Our founder Hyman Rinkoff

Rinkoff bakery, est in 1911, is a family run business based in the heart of London’s East End. We have been producing our speciality bread cakes and rolls for over 100 years. From traditional challah breads, sourdoughs, cheesecakes, croissants and danish pastries to our (now famous) Crodoughs – you’ll find a range of mouth watering products here at Rinkoff bakery.

Meet the family:

Hyman: Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather came over from the Ukraine in 1911 with his beloved recipes and opened his first shop in East London.

Max: Hyman’s son who ran the retail business in the 1940’s right up until the early 00’s.

Sylvie: Matriarch of the family and married to Max for over 60 years! They ran the shop together.

Ray: Youngest son of Max and Sylvie, Ray came into the business at age 15 where he begun his training as a master baker. Ray is still in the business today and has been for nearly 50 years, we recommend trying one of his Sourdough bakes.

Derek: Eldest son of Max and Sylvie. came into the business in 1976 and is the main account man for Rinkoff’s

Harvey: Middle son to Max and Sylvie. Came into the business in 1988 as Head of Sales, helping to bring new customers onboard and establishing Rinkoff’s as one of the finest Wholesale bakeries in London!

Lloyd: Derek’s eldest son joined the business in 1985 where he learnt the trade through Ray, his uncle. Lloyd still bakes and now handles the logistics of running a bakery business.

Jennifer: Ray’s eldest daughter joined in 2007. Jen heads up new product development, marketing and social media as well as looking after the retail side of the business; she’s the woman behind our famous Crodough!

Debs: Youngest daughter of Ray, Debs joined Rinkoff’s in 2017 and now runs the wholesale side of the business; handling new customer enquiries as well as the general day to day running of the office and shop.

Ben: Lloyd’s eldest son, and newest recruit to the family business. Ben is learning the baking side of Rinkoff’s, and is already establishing himself as an integral member of the team.
